  • Conservation of water bodies- lakes and wetlands through community based awareness programmes
  • Reptile conservation and detailed studies on their nesting and habitats
  • Marine biodiversity importance and mitigating threats through collaborations and community development
  • Addressing passive pressing issues such as urban biodiversity through impact media
  • Capacity building programmes in schools and colleges
  • Celebrating environmental days through unique programs for the public

Goals

Habitat

We at WCTRE, make sure we study habitats not only during a necessity such as a project on conserving a particular species, but also otherwise. Major projects concerning habitat protection are also in pipeline with focus on biodiversity richness in the concerned urban or rural location.

Wildlife

WCTRE has its project wings on identifying wildlife corridors and their protection, human-animal conflict mitigation, plantations across identified terrains, ecological and morphological adaptations of select species of mammals, reptiles and birds and many more.

Climate

Climate change- the bought about doom by mankind, has deeply affected the miniscule habitats and its dependant guests across the world. From marine to terrestrial, a diverse range of organisms have succumbed to climate change and its affects so far.

Communities

Community participation has proved to be one of the best approaches for conservation projects in many fields. Be it species conflicts or nesting habitat protection, the various types of communities that are involved in the ground work make sure the conservation stands for generations together.

CONSERVATION ACTIVITIES

Caring and protecting resources can be done in many ways. It involves bonding with nature, understanding its ways, its hidden agendas and miracles. A little extra patience and an observing eye is all it takes to understand a small process to great details. Our researchers have been working in their respective fields since past few years, including reptiles, mammals, birds and more through research and exploration. Our enthusiasts are out on the field from conducting rescues to awareness programs explaining the importance of even the smallest “ant” in the backyard garden.
